Sterling Investigative Services is a driving force behind the insurance industry's battle against insurance fraud. Originally formed by the Hanover Insurance Company in 1981, D.B. Kelly acquired Sterling in October as a Division of D.B. Kelly Protection L.L.C., Sterling Investigative Services now ranks as one of the largest private insurance investigation operations. Over the years, the investigators of Sterling have handled tens of thousands of cases, ranging from misrepresentation on insurance applications to multi-million dollar theft losses, to complex arson schemes. The discrepancies we have uncovered translate into millions of dollars in rejected claims. With Sterling, clients have some of the most trained and experienced investigators in the industry working on their side; Most of our investigators come from law enforcement backgrounds, with such Police Departments as the NYC Police Dept., NJ State Police, and the Philadelphia Police Dept; Many are trained in specific areas such as structural arson, automobile fraud and medical cost control and are recognized by courts as experts in their fields.
